| Project Description: | Tri-City Mechanical is providing all of the HVAC, plumbing and sewage treatment at this facility. The 300,000 square-foot complex consists of six housing units and six support buildings. All buildings are contained within the secure perimeter of the facility with the exception of the Administration building. Four cell blocks house general population inmates while the remaining two cell blocks are designed for special management populations. Additional buildings include Religious and Program, Medical, Maintenance, Laundry, Visitation and Food Service. |

| Project Description: | This project involved six general housing buildings with a total 768 cells, and additional support buildings. We provided both design assist and construction services. The unique use of fast track design-build on this large project was to be able to assemble a team that could meet the stringent project requirements but also take advantage of innovations in order to get the most efficiency in terms of both first cost and long-term operations. Formal partnering was essential in determining a thorough understanding of the project expectations, developing meaningful project goals, and achieving those goals. The partners, including Arrington Watkins Architects and ourselves, proceeded to work through preconstruction and construction and finally delivering a project that more than met the expectations of the owner. This project received the Best Design-Build Project of the Year award by Southwest Contractor Magazine, the annual Award of Excellence for projects over $15 million from the Design Build Institute of America and the Marvin M. Black Award-for Construction Project Which Best Epitomizes The Principles of Partnering. |

These beds will be critical in reducing the projected crowding at the medium security level. |
